AP2140A-S Operetta 2 Channel Amplifier
I went to audition the Operetta AP2140A after Luc Morin wrote a rave review
on his website.  I am the one who brought a 1942 recording of the Strauss
Solemn Prelude and a 1955 Wagner Ring on Testament, along with more
contemporary material.  They sounded very well indeed
.

What impressed me then and now is the Operetta's ability to make a cohesive
spatial image.  It is strikingly clear where the first oboe is sitting or where is
soloist is standing. The Goerne/Brendel Winterise is amazing in this respect.
Although the rated power is modest at 70w a side, there always seems to be
ample power in reserve.  My wife was blown away by Kind of Blue on this amp.

I have occasionally activated the speaker protect relays, through doing
something thoughtless.  It is nice to know that the product is so well designed
to compensate for an inadvertent error or two.

Last weekend I heard the Lyra speakers at Luc's in a full Jaton system (same
Operetta amp plus preamp/tuner/processor).  Gorgeous sounding string quartet
and solo cello.  I have to hear the Wagner again on these.

Jaton clearly is combining excellent performance and value with these products.

Your designer (s) have created an amazing product that has greatly improved
the naturalness and beauty of recorded music in my very modest system
-Yamaha preamp out,  Oppo universal player,  Vienna Acoustics Mozart
speakers.
Thank You Floyd L. Czoski

AP5140A-S Operetta 5 Channel Amplifier
I decided to give this amp a try after meeting George at the RMAF.
Overall its a very well built amp especially considering the price.  Very quiet
amp as advertised.  Very pleasing sounding amp, good bass and very smooth high
end without any trace of harshness.

I originally intended to use the amp for home theater, but I'm using it to
bi-amp my current speakers with excellent results. Exceeded my expectations
and I'm very pleased with the purchase.

AP5140A-SO Operetta 5 Channel Amplifier
This amp is the most musical amp I've had. Bass and mids are
a pleasant surprise. Great imaging. I couldn't believe the sound when
I first hooked it up and played it. If ever a giant killer -- and
wonderful, solid, thoughtful engineering -- this is it. 0 complaints. A HUGE
fan and looking forward to continued business.

I am really pleased with my new Operetta.  The music is very 'physical', there
is a great stereo 'image'.  I first enjoyed re-listening to my symphony or
concerto CDs, getting a sense of the room full of instruments each at its own
location.  But I now find that solo instruments also sound great, for example
Bach's Goldberg Variations in which the piano is very realistic.  And to think
the Operetta is now hooked up to my old Rotel receiver... I have bought a
Jaton pre-amp but am waiting to find a suitable headphone ampli before I hook
it up... can't wait!!  Thanks a bunch folks.

The Operatta is an excellent amplifer. Of course that's what you should
expect when you pay over $1000. for a 70 Watt stereo power amp. But it is
morer than that. Here are my first impressions after a week of ownership.
Instruments and voices are solidly in focus and stay in place in the soundstage.
Notes are full bodied, when Ron Carter plucks the bass you hear a real bass
not a flat reproduction. It's as if he's in the room. I was listening to a jazz
album recently and when the alto sax starter up I had a reflex to look beside
me because I felt like it was playing right in my ear!
Luc at Stereo Passion has made a big deal out of how quiet this amp is. Well
he's right; I was listening to Itzhak Perlman's recording of the Tchaikavski
Violin Concerto and I heard a high faint note that I never heard before!
The first thing I discovered when I hooked up this amp was that my '92 B&K
Pro 10 MC preamp had a noisy volume pot. With my previous amp I never heard
the noise.
Congadulations on a great product,
